In 1971, a remarkable case was brought to light by John Greenewald, who received information from researcher Alex Mistretta. This case involves captivating photographs that illustrate a close encounter between U.S. military personnel and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).

The photographs were taken during an expedition to the Arctic Ocean's fringes, where one of the UFOs is prominently featured. Mistretta's narrative, which is provided here in Spanish, offers further insight into the origins of these intriguing images.

Mistretta learned of the photographs from a European informant, who initially alerted him to their existence. These images had previously appeared in a French magazine called Top Secret, known for its focus on paranormal phenomena. According to the magazine's editors, the images were sourced from an anonymous contributor. Although Mistretta’s informant and the source for Top Secret are different, he has utilized his connections within the European intelligence community to gather information about UFOs.

Mistretta is actively seeking to identify the source of the French publication. He claims to know the anonymous individual who provided the photographs, asserting that they were captured from a United States Navy submarine. The images were taken in March 1971 during a collaborative mission involving the U.S. military and scientific researchers, situated between Iceland and the island of Jan Mayen. The USS Trepang was the submarine involved, commanded by Admiral Dean Reynolds Sackett.

The first sighting of a UFO occurred when Officer John Kilika observed it through the periscope. The photographs distinctly depict objects that appear to be beyond our technology, raising questions about their origin. According to Top Secret, one of the images contains markings, but the quality is insufficient to discern any details. Allegedly, the inscription reads: “Official Photography. Publication prohibited. CT.” Additionally, in the lower right section, it supposedly states: “(sic) Unauthorized Declassified Matter. SNN Security Certificate 674. Criminal Sanction.”

Mistretta has not been able to verify this information and is unsure if the term “Certificad” is a typographical error from the magazine. However, he continues to investigate the matter and will share any new findings he uncovers.
