Creating a Flourishing Coaching Career: Insights from Natasha McCrea

Chapter 1: Embracing Self-Care for Success

Taking care of yourself is paramount. When I truly understood the significance of prioritizing my well-being, my entire perspective shifted. People are naturally drawn to those who exude vitality rather than those who operate from a place of exhaustion and fear. When you care for yourself, it reflects an abundance mindset — a belief that there is more than enough to go around. This attitude is magnetic and invaluable in both business and life.

The coaching industry has ballooned into a $15 billion market, attracting many professionals who have transitioned from traditional jobs to flourishing coaching careers. However, success isn't guaranteed for everyone who enters this field. What do aspiring life, wellness, or business coaches need to know to ensure their journey is both successful and fulfilling?

In our interview series titled "Five Essentials for Building a Successful Coaching Career," we engage with seasoned coaches from various domains who share crucial strategies for establishing a rewarding coaching practice. In this installment, we are delighted to feature Natasha McCrea.

Natasha McCrea is an accomplished actress, director, and life coach specializing in self-love. She empowers women to become their best selves, enabling them to attract their true desires and create the lives they envision.

The video title is "How to Heal From Past Relationships to Get the Love You Deserve | Love Talk Live w/ Natasha McCrea." In this engaging discussion, Natasha shares valuable insights on healing and self-discovery.

Chapter 2: Natasha's Journey to Coaching

In 2012, I showcased my one-woman show, "Evolution of a Love Addict," which offered a glimpse into the experiences of a serial dating divorcee seeking genuine love. Each performance included a Q&A session, where I found myself answering deeply personal questions from the audience, such as, "How do I love again?" and "How can I forgive my family?" The inquiries flooded in, and I spent countless hours responding to messages from attendees eager for guidance.

I felt compelled to share how I rediscovered my sense of self and embraced a lifestyle centered around love and peace. This inspiration led me to establish the Love CEO Institute, an online community offering courses, coaching, and support for women striving for genuine confidence and connection to their feminine power.

Section 2.1: Key Traits for Success

As a successful business leader, I attribute my achievements to three key character traits:

  1. Prioritize Yourself: Visualize holding a beautiful teacup, pouring tea until it overflows into the saucer. You should give from the overflow, not the cup itself. Previously, I neglected my needs and found myself drained. Once I learned to prioritize my self-care, I could embrace my true potential and enjoy the journey.
  2. Establish a Clear Vision: Initially, my vision was vague, leading me to flounder in my pursuits. Now, I utilize my vision as a guiding filter, allowing me to focus on what truly matters and eliminate distractions.
  3. Leverage Love as a Strategy: My experience as a recovering love addict taught me that authentic love is fundamental to achieving your goals. Self-love is crucial — do you truly know what you want?

Section 2.2: Cultivating Positive Habits

I’ve developed a robust toolbox for personal growth. Here are some habits that have propelled me forward:

  • Regularly assess my life satisfaction at the beginning of each year and quarterly thereafter.
  • Create a mini vision board in my guided journal each month to keep my goals front and center.
  • Identify how I wish to feel, ensuring my goals align with those feelings.
  • Track gratitude and celebrate achievements, no matter how small.

Good habits are essential for success. They save mental energy and streamline decision-making. For example, I help clients craft self-care plans and incorporate love activations into their calendars to foster a Love Intelligence lifestyle, ensuring they do not wait until they are depleted to focus on self-care.

Chapter 3: Building a Successful Coaching Practice

To cultivate a thriving coaching career, it’s crucial to identify your definition of success. For some, it may be about making a significant income; for others, it’s about fulfilling their passion for helping others. Define what success means to you to avoid chasing unattainable goals.

  1. Stay True to Your Niche: Understand your unique value proposition and the audience you wish to serve. In my early days, I struggled to define my coaching identity. It wasn't until I embraced my true self that I could authentically connect with my clients.
  2. Embrace Change: Don't fear the need to pivot. The business landscape evolves, and so should your goals. Flexibility can lead to new opportunities.
  3. Savor the Journey: Often, we believe that satisfaction comes only after achieving specific milestones. Instead, celebrate your progress along the way, which fuels further motivation and action.

By sharing these insights, I hope to inspire budding coaches to cultivate their paths with love and intention.
