Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to work every day as general manager of NINETEEN49 Catering. Before joining our team in the fall of 2014, Matt worked for 15 years in the hospitality industry at various restaurants as well as food and beverage companies.
Matt thoroughly enjoys working with NINTEEN49 Catering, fulfilling his passion for food on a daily basis and sharing this passion with his co-workers, guests and clients. This passion has grown from his high school job as a line cook to receiving his degree in restaurant, hotel, institutional and tourism management from Purdue University. Since then, Matt’s worked in many different parts of the food and beverage world, gaining wisdom and experiencing in all aspects of this business.
He started as a line cook and went on to hold many different positions, including managing the back of the house at a cafeteria, becoming district chef manager for Longhorn Steakhouse, managing a bar at a brewery and even serving as director of foodservice for four Chicago-area Aramark sites.
During his time as head chef at Stir Crazy in Chicago, the eatery was voted best new restaurant by the Indianapolis Star, one of many distinctions businesses associated with Matt over the years. He has been invited to do cooking segments on local news stations and also was featured in an article in FoodService Director Magazine.
In his free time, Matt is an avid outdoorsman, traveling, hiking, camping and exploring new areas. He also has a 10-year-old daughter, Olivia
