Many of the desires prevalent in my generation stem from experiences of trauma and survival, which often leads to silence about what we truly want. Although our deepest wishes can be exhilarating, they may also provoke inner conflict. This turmoil is often linked to unresolved past traumas, feelings of unworthiness, and restrictive beliefs.
To move forward, it’s crucial to explore the beliefs that lead us to keep our aspirations hidden. Research over the years has indicated that Baby Boomers tend to have a more pessimistic view of life compared to younger and older individuals. This suggests that the attitudes and expectations formed in our youth could be influencing our current happiness.
For instance, the ways I sought to fulfill my desires in the past might be unconsciously impacting my satisfaction today. A change is necessary.

To do this, we must address the emotional burdens created by our limiting beliefs. Unpacking these beliefs allows us to confront the notion that life is simpler if we keep our desires hidden. By freeing ourselves from shame and blame, we can reconnect with our authentic selves.
We must embody what we seek and recognize our inherent worthiness to pursue and attain our deepest desires. This alignment between our beliefs and our aspirations is crucial for manifesting what we truly want in the world around us.
When you accept your worthiness, you also embrace your desires.

If you’ve felt shamed or blamed in the past, you might struggle to express your desires openly. A helpful strategy is to practice vocalizing your desires when you're alone. You can even record yourself, allowing you to become comfortable with your authentic voice as you articulate your aspirations.
It's essential to recognize that many of your friends and family may share similar limiting beliefs. You can honor your desires by seeking support from individuals who are pursuing their own aspirations and are equipped to assist you in achieving yours.
