Creating a Transformative Morning Workout Habit in Just One Month

Chapter 1: Journey to an Early Morning Routine
Over the course of a month, I dedicated myself to forming a new morning habit. For thirty-one consecutive days, I engaged in a series of actions that enabled me to rise early, exercise, and kickstart my day on a positive note!
In the coming days, I will delve deeper into my outcomes and share valuable insights that might assist others on a similar path. However, today I want to wrap up this series by outlining my routine, particularly focusing on today's activities.
I must admit, I got off to a slow start this morning. Yesterday was a significant day for our client, and after the celebration with colleagues, I stayed up later than usual. As a result, when my alarm rang, I succumbed to the temptation of the snooze button—not once, but twice. It’s tough to own up to this, but it’s the reality.
Eventually, I managed to rise at 5:30 AM and proceeded through my morning rituals. I silenced the alarm, feeling the urge to snooze it again, but summoned the willpower to carry on. I sat up, switched on the lights, slipped into my slides, and made my way to the kitchen. I opened the fridge, grabbed some cold water, and poured it into a 16 oz glass, adding a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. I checked the electric kettle, made sure it was filled, and turned it on. I then prepared a coffee filter in the pour-over cone, which I'll illustrate with a picture…
I added a tablespoon each of decaf and regular coffee because I needed a boost today, even though I had been good at avoiding caffeine throughout the month. After finishing my cold water, I headed to the restroom to wash my face, splashing water gently into my eyes. I dried off and returned to the kitchen, where the kettle had boiled. As I poured the hot water over the coffee grounds, the delightful aroma filled the air. Mmmmm, it was heavenly!
Next, I changed into my workout clothes and completed a set of sit-ups. Afterward, I returned for my coffee, which somehow tasted even better today—perhaps I simply valued it more.
I grabbed my keys, phone, and ID and stepped out the door. Typically, the gym is shrouded in darkness when I arrive, but today, I reached the gym at around 5:57 AM, just in time to witness a beautiful sunrise.
Today's workout was relatively easy. I began with elastic band exercises for rehabilitation, followed by shoulder rehab. Then, I hopped on the elliptical for a solid 30 minutes before switching to weights, targeting my chest and shoulders. Between each set, I fit in one or two rounds of sit-ups. I plan to return to the gym at lunchtime for a more intense weight session.
After my workout, I walked home and made sure to hydrate by drinking another large glass of water. I took the time to shave, shower, and get dressed for work. Now, as I write this, it’s almost time to head out.
Wishing you a fantastic day or night, depending on when you read this! I hope you found this series on my Early Morning Workout Routine engaging. Please feel free to share your thoughts with me!
